Here at Swansea Marina, Gigi Gao’s Favourite Authentic Chinese offers a unique dining experience. Not only do we cook the lesser known authentic Northern Chinese cuisine, but we also pride ourselves in making our customer’s dining an experience through a number of different and unique service initiatives.
Our emphasis from day one is to send all our customers away happy, and perhaps a little more knowledgeable about our cuisine and culture. Everything we do is for a reason, whether it be the traditional Chinese dresses our servers wear, the handmade table clothes, the hand-made customised cutlery and crockery or the flamboyant decor, some of which depicts paintings of traditional Chinese characters and stories.

Bringing Truly Authentic Chinese Cuisine To Swansea
Inspired by the lack of real Chinese cuisine within the local Swansea area, typical of that which you would experience in China itself, Gigi Gao ventured to change the local Chinese dining culture by introducing truly authentic Chinese cuisine, and a memorable dining experience to match.
The restaurant is small but very busy providing a great atmosphere for all types of dining. Whilst the dishes and flavours are unique to the local area, the growing following and subsequent high recommendations speak for themselves. A little light Shanghai Jazz is the preferred music of the evening and you can occasionally find a live musical treat at The Favourite.
